established in 2018

Our story started many years ago when we discovered Berlin by way of off roading. As our love for the sport grew, our visits to the area grew more frquent. In 2017 we bought our first vacation home and thought we would visit every few weeks to go riding. Boy were we wrong! We have fallen in love with the area and the community so staying away for too long is near impossible.

After witnessing the number of visitors to the park, and knowing how difficult securing lodging was becoming, we thought why not invest into Berlin and accomodate others who enjoy the Northwoods as much as we do. We started dreaming of what kind of accomodations we could offer and what we might possibly call this little business dream we were creating. After some cider and laughs at River Fire, the Side X Suites name was birthed. In 2018 we purchased our first rental property. Hilltop Hideaway was a labor of love for the winter months and emerged in the spring as an inviting home that was a perfect spot for a base camp for mountain activities. As we dove into hosting, we discovered we really enjoyed the folks that were visiting and the feedback they gave inspired us to expand with another property. In late 2019 we acquired Androscggin Annex and got to work. This project proved to be very labor intensive and we feel the finished product speaks for itself. We have had wonderful experiences with hosting and take pride in what we provide to our guests.

**In 2022 we made the decision to sell our primary home in Berlin and take up residence at Hilltop Hideaway. We love it so much, we had to take the leap. We are so thankful for the wonderful guests that have stayed with us over the years. Androscoggin Annex is our only rental and if you haven’t stayed, once you do you’ll never want to leave!
